چکیده

Video mosaicing is commonly used to increase the e ective visual eld of view. Existing mosaicingmethods are based on image alignment, and are e ective only in very limited cases. To overcome most restrictions, mosaicing is presented in this paper as a process of collecting strips. Strips which are perpendicular to the optical ow are cut out of the images, and are warped so that within each strip the optical ow will be parallel. These strips are then pasted into the mosaic. This approach enables to de ne mosaicing even for cases of forward motion and for zoom. View interpolation, generating dense intermediate views, is used to overcome parallax e ects.

Mosaicing on Adaptive Manifolds

Image mosaicing is commonly used to increase the visual field of view by pasting together many images or video frames. Existing mosaicing methods are based on projecting all images onto a pre-determined single manifold: a plane is commonly used for a camera translating sideways, a cylinder is used for a panning camera, and a sphere is used for a camera which is both panning and tilting. While d...

Automatic and Generic Mosaicing of Multisensor Images: an Application to Pleiades Hr

In the early phase of the Pleiades program, the CNES (the French Space Agency) specified and developed a fully automatic mosaicing processing unit, in order to generate satellite image mosaics under operational conditions. This tool can automatically put each input image in a common geometry, homogenize the radiometry, and generate orthomosaics using stitching lines. As the image quality commis...

Rectified Mosaicing: Mosaics without the Curl

When images captured by a tilted camera are mosaiced into a panorama, the resulting mosaic is curled. This happens, for example, with a panning camera that is not perfectly horizontal, and with a translating camera facing a tilted planar surface. The tilt of the camera causes differences in image velocity between the top and bottom parts of the image, causing the curled mosaic. In rectified mos...

Rapid confocal imaging of large areas of excised tissue with strip mosaicing.

Imaging large areas of tissue rapidly and with high resolution may enable rapid pathology at the bedside. The limited field of view of high-resolution microscopes requires the merging of multiple images that are taken sequentially to cover a large area. This merging or mosaicing of images requires long acquisition and processing times, and produces artifacts. To reduce both time and artifacts, ...

Generalized Mosaicing

We present an approach that significantly enhances the capabilities of traditional image mosaicing. The key observation is that as a camera moves, it senses each scene point multiple times. We rigidly attach to the camera an optical filter with spatially varying properties, so that multiple measurements are obtained for each scene point under different optical settings. Fusing the data captured...
